A Scholar of Color in Wax

In my encaustic practice, I focus on color—not as a limitation, but as a devotion. Color is my language, my subject, and my question. By working with color studies, I am not stepping away from complexity—I am stepping into it, exploring the emotional, optical, and symbolic resonance of hue, value, and saturation within the luminous, layered medium of wax.

My studio is my laboratory, where I examine how pigments shift under translucent encaustic, how colors speak to one another in proximity, and how subtle changes in temperature or texture can shift the entire emotional tenor of a piece. This deep dive is not about decoration—it’s about perception, transformation, and meaning.

Through this focused inquiry, I hope to contribute to the broader conversation about what color means in contemporary encaustic art. And in this way, my work becomes not just a study—but a search, a statement, and a celebration.
